À l'été 1980, je m'activais à abattre quelques arbres sur un terrain nouvellement acquis dans le canton de Potton pour y bâtir, en 1982, une maison que j'habite toujours. Quarante ans plus tard, à l'été 2020, je m'active à numériser cet album souvenir qui fût publié en 1982, année où j'ai pris racine dans le canton de Potton.
Je retrouve dans cet album des photos, des récits, des notes généalogiques qui ont alimenté les nombreuses publications de l’Association du patrimoine de Potton à laquelle j’ai adhéré dès sa création, en 1990. Occupant diverses fonctions au conseil d’administration au cours des 10 dernières années, j’ai reconnu l’importance de sauvegarder notre histoire locale.
J'ai toujours valorisé les activités qui permettent aux gens de « se raconter ». C'est un volet qui fait partie du patrimoine et ma contribution la plus significative à l'Association du patrimoine de Potton aura sans doute été de faire en sorte que des archives locales puissent survivre, à l'ère du numérique.

In the summer of 1980, I busied myself by cutting trees and clearing my newly acquired land here in Potton, where I would build my home two years later. Forty years have passed since I set down roots here, and I am now using my time to digitize this souvenir album originally published in 1982.
Through photos, stories, historical and family notes, this valuable album chronicles 100 years of people and place in the life of our community. Over the years, Potton Heritage has borrowed from its information in composing many of our publications. For over 10 years now, I have occupied many different offices as a Director of the Association founded in 1990, and have learned the importance of preserving our local history.
I have always favoured activities that allow people to tell their stories. Perhaps, my most significant contribution to the heritage of Potton will have been that local archives will survive in the digital era.
