ln 1953, Academy School is torn down and a modern and large school, lntermediate School, with a gymnasium, recreational hall and many classrooms is built a little below. At the time of moving, John McGibbon was Principal. ln the succession of directors came Ron Langley, Vance Patterson, Thelma Gemmel (Cote), Elaine Young (head-teacher) and Walter Horn who is also Principal at Sutton. ln the 60's, when Regionalisation came, the name was changed for Mansonville Elementary School.
ln September 1982, 97 students from Kindergarden to Secundary 1st, were admitted in Mansonville Elementary School. Here is the actual stall: Walter Horn, Principal Carolyn Cornish, 6th grade and Sec 1, Elaine Young, 4th and 5th grade, Pauline Tibbits, 3rd and 4th grade, Susan Bushe, Kindergarden and 1 st and 2nd grade, Sandra Côté, 1 st and 2nd grade and Phys. Ed. Cynthia Clinton, guidance, Arline Hamilton, secretary.
Around 1970, School Committees were established in all Quebec Province. The actual Committee includes: Audrey Clark, chairman, Linda Ransom, secretary, Thelma Coté, Tom Ranson, Sandra Shelest, Linda Jersey. The Principal is also a member, and Elaine Young is representative for the teachers.
Main and up-to-date questions, our School Administrators, Commitees, Directors and Teachers have to face, namely: Restructuration, Confessionality, School Councils. We will be there not only to see it going, but to make it go.
