Église anglicane St-Paul
Les pionniers de Potion étaient, pour la plupart, de religion protestante: des Méthodistes, Baptistes et Anglicans. Avant la construction d'églises, on se réunissait pour la prière dans des maisons privées ou des écoles En 1847-1848, les Baptistes construisirent un temple à Mansonville, qui fut par la suite vendu, en 1856, à la Church of England. Il fut démoli en 1902, et l'église actuelle anglicane St-Paul, de briques rouges et de style gothique, fut construit sous la houlette du Rév. E.H. Croly assisté d'un comité dont faisait partie David A. Manson, un illustre citoyen de Mansonville qui fut Grandmaître de la Grande Loge Maçonique du Québec. La pierre angulaire, placée le 21 août 1902, attire l'attention de par sa croix pattée gravée. À l'intérieur, la tradition franc-maçonne se manifeste aussi dans l'architecture et la décoration par des symboles particuliers tels que deux fenêtres triangulaires et une triade. Enfin, l'étoile de David est illustrée dans un des nombreux vitraux.
Deuxième temple de l'église anglicane St Paul construit en 1902. L'intérieur de l'église est d'une beauté remarquable avec ses verrières et sa charpente de bois voutée. Il s'y dégage une grande sérénité qui invite au recueillement.
St Paul's Anglican Church
ln 1847-48, the Baptists built the church in Mansonville but some ten years later, in 1856, sold it to the Church of England. The Anglicans continued using it until 1902 when it was demolished and replaced with the present red brick Gothic style building, unique for Potton at that time. The new church was built under Rev. E.H. Croly assisted by a building committee with David A. Manson as a member, an illustrious citizen in Mansonville, who has been the Grand Master of the Quebec Grand Lodge. The corner stone, laid on August 21, 1902, is noteworthy for having an engraved Pattee cross adopted by the Freemasons. lnside the church, various other symbols can be found : two triangular windows and one circular, designed with three intertwined circles forming a trefoil, one of the stained-glass windows displays the Shield (or Star) of David, an Hebraic symbol, a talisman that protects against various dangers.
Second St Paul's Anglican Church built in 1902. The interior of the church is noted for ils beauty with ils numerous stained glass windows and arched wooden beams. Ils serenity is conducive to meditation.
