Paroisse St-Cajetan | St-Cajetan Parish
Entre 1866 et 1880, peu après l'arrivée des premiers catholiques dans la région, une mission fut établie par les prêtres de Sutton. La première église remonte à 1880 et sa cloche fut bénie le 29 août de cette année, sous le nom de Marie-Élisabeth. La paroisse St-Cajetan fut officiellement constituée le 13 octobre 1890 sous le curé J.E. de Beauford (1889-1902). Cette première église fut utilisée jusqu'en 1919 alors qu'une seconde église, plus grande, fut érigée.
Shortly after the arrivai of the first Catholics in the area, about 1866, a mission serviced by priests !rom Sullon was established. The first Catholic church was built in 1880 and its bell dedicated Io Marie-Élisabeth on January 22 of that year. The St-Cajetan parish was formally incorporated on October 13, 1880 under the ministry of the pries! J.E de Beauford. The church served the parishioners until 1919 after which a new and larger one was built.
Première église catholique de Mansonville construite en 1880 sur des fondations de pierre mais située plus vers l'arrière du temple actuel. Lors de la construction de la deuxième église en 1919, le corps principal de ce bâtiment fut déménagé en face, de l'autre coté de la rue Principale, et devint un pensionnat des religieuses Filles de la Charité, qui enseignèrent dans la première école du village sise à coté de l'église catholique. Ce bâtiment devint plus tard la résidence d'Avila Daigle.
First Mansonville Catholic Church built in 1880 on stone foundations Io the back of the present church. When the second church was built in 1919, the old building was moved across the street and became a boarding house for the nuns, Filles de la Charité who thought in the village's first Catholic school. The building later became the residence of Avila Daigle's family.
Photo d'environ 1920 de la deuxième église catholique de Mansonville construite en 1919. Elle fut incendiée le 17 mars 1950 mais reconstruite la même année. Tous les ans, au début de juin, jusqu'au début des années 1960, se tenait la procession de la Fête-Dieu à laquelle participaient les paroissiens qui traversaient tout le village. En avant plan, la première école catholique construite en 1880. Détruite par le feu en 1922, elle fut reconstruite la même année au même endroit.

Every year, in early June, a Corpus Christi procession was held until the early 1960's when parishioners participated, walking through the whole village. ln front, the first Catholic School built in 1880. Levelled by fire in 1922, il was rebuilt the same year on the same spot.
