Mimosa, Chemin du

Contenu

Exotic!  Mimosa is a lot easier to describe when it concerns the luscious beverage sometimes served at a special brunch!  However in this instance, Mimosa is a tree or shrub of tropical origins of the species Acacia or pea family.  It is cultivated for its yellow ball shaped flowers that are very fragrant.  But they don't grow in Potton!  The golden wattle, Acacia pycnantha, is Australia's national flower; however, I somehow doubt this to be the reason for the name in Potton!

Mimosa is a genus of about 400 species of herbs and shrubs.  The generic name is derived from the Greek mimos, meaning “ mimic ».  The Robinia pseudoacacia, commonly known as the Black Locust, is a tree in the pea family Fabaceae.  It is native to the southeastern U.S., but has been widely planted and naturalized elsewhere in temperate North America.[1]  Mimosa road might refer to the bubbly drink after all!

Exotique.
