Marché fermier de Mansonville
Contenu
In the spring of 2008, Wendy Tracy and Gwynne Basen, two Potton residents who are passionate gardeners and committed to both the creation of a local food movement and to the protection of our agricultural heritage, approached the Municipal Council for permission to set up a farm stand in Place Manson. Gwynne and Wendy invited other local growers and producers to join them, and the Mansonville Farmers Market opened for the first time at the Multicultural Festival, in August of that year. Now five years later, and the market is still going strong. It has become known as the Co-op La locomotive farm stand, with more than a dozen producer members. In September 2012, it was moved into the public market space created at Place de la Grange-Ronde, in front of Mansonville's historic round barn.[1]
