Herman-Steinbach, Chemin

Contenu

This road is found off Chemin Bellevue, about halfway to the covered bridge.  Herman Steinbach immigrated to Canada from the Bavarian region of Germany in 1927, and then, in 1929, to Potton, where he bought the farm located on the road now bearing his name.  Mrs. Steinbach came to Potton in 1930.  The Steinbachs had four children: Karl, Kurt, Inge, and Paula.  It was Kurt who remained on the home farm and continued dairy farming.  He and his wife, Barbara, have recently retired from that demanding vocation, and the Steinbach farm has recently changed hands.  The Steinbach farm is one of the oldest continuously operated farms in Potton.

Herman Steinbach (1903-1989), his wife Helma (1906-1992) and brother, Otto Steinbach (1906-1990) are interred in Mansonville Protestant Cemetery.

Herman Steinbach (1903-1989), son épouse Helma (1906-1992) et son frère, Otto (1906-1990) reposent au Cimetière protestant de Mansonville.[1]
