Fitzsimmons, Chemin
Contenu
Little had been known about this road name until recently, when Mrs. Mary Cowan Bailey of Highwater informed us that the Fitzsimonds family were neighbours of the R.F. Cowan family who lived on this road: Mary Fitzsimonds was her great-aunt and grandmother to Francis Young, also a Mansonville resident. She informed me that the Keach family and the Charles Stuart family were also close neighbours (see Dépanneur des 13 and Old Stewart Road). As has been noted previously, this area of high ground, around Chemin Miltimore and Chapel Hill, was one of the earliest settled in Potton. In the Mansonville Cemetery is inscribed: William Fitzsimonds. Cemetery headstones may be informative, but definitely not in this case!
William Fitzsimmons (1856-1926) est enterré au Cimetière protestant de Mansonville.[1]
