Château-Jones, Chemin du

Contenu

This road runs north along the Lakeshore, in the direction of Cap Saint-Martin or Butterfly Point.  It leads to private cottages, crossing property belonging to Lawrence Jones, thus explaining part of the name.  The Château is actually the Jones' small white cottage with red trim located on the lakeshore!  The Municipal authorities would likely say however, that the road is named Château-Jones because the Jones property is located on the north side of the Ruisseau Château.  You may choose for yourself!

At one time, this road was little more than a track through a cow pasture, with gates to be opened and closed by all who travelled there.  Although a named road, it is private with no outlet.

Le nom de ce chemin réfère à l’hôtel Château DaSilva, aujourd’hui disparu et à la famille Jones qui possède toujours des terres dans ce secteur.[1]
