Originally from Beauceville, Alphonse Lessard came to Potton with his wife, Marie-Anna, born Parent, in 1917. They raised seven children on their 300-acre farm just south of Mansonville. The youngest of the Lessard family was J. “Eddy” Lessard who is a well known figure in Mansonville, having been the Secretary-Treasurer of the Township of Potton from 1955 to 1986. He lives on the street that honors his family name.[1] Alphonse Lessard (1879-1958) is interred in the Saint-Cajetan Catholic Cemetery, with his wife, Marie-Anna (Parent) Lessard (1891-1970). Many of their descendants live in the Mansonville area
