The origins of “old fisherman's” road are obscure. One might think of a well-travelled trail to a good fishing spot on Lake Memphremagog, near the border in Leadville. It is found off Smart Road and appears to have no outlet. It is easy to imagine an old gentleman, tackle box and fish pole in hand, bent in the mist, trudging toward the lake, fairly salivating at the catch anticipated for supper! On the map however, Chemin du Vieux-Pêcheur does not seem to end at the Lake's edge!!
Nommé ainsi par un très vieux pêcheur. Se dirigeant vers le Lac Memphrémagog, près de la frontière américaine, ce chemin était utilisé par ce vieux pêcheur. Nous pouvons facilement l’imaginer se dirigeant lentement vers le lac.[1]
