The Municipality was petitioned August 10, 1990 to maintain the traditional name for this short road, branching off Chemin Ruiter Brook. George Turner and wife Abbie Cushman bought their land October 23, 1897 to farm, bringing with them “ 10 cows, 8 sheep, 1 calf and 1 horse ». George W. Turner (1835 – 1909) and his wife Abbie I. Cushman (1858-1949) are both interred in the Ruiter's Settlement Cemetery.
Selon une pétition remise le 10 août 1990 à la Municipalité du Canton de Potton par les résidents du secteur, ce chemin portait le nom de Turner depuis que George Turner et son épouse Abbie Cushman l’ont acquise le 23 octobre 1897, avec 10 cows, 8 sheeps, 1 calf and 1 horse.[1]
George W. Turner (1853-1909) et son épouse Abbie I. Gushman (1858-1949) reposent au Cimetière Ruiter.[2]
