Philias-Cyr, Chemin
Contenu
The road honors Phillias Cyr who had a large farm in the area of Sugar Loaf Pond, on which this road is located. Members of that family inherited properties and have built individual homes on the road, forming something of a family compound! From marriage records, we know that Philias Cyr married Aurore Brulotte on June 1, 1932.
No history of the area of Sugar Loaf Pond would be complete without at least a passing reference to Omer (1900-1971) and Idéa Brulotte (1905-1964), who once farmed the north end of Sugar Loaf Pond. They were the hardworking, loving parents of twenty-six children, of whom many still live in the very area where they came into this world.
Nommé en l’honneur de Phillias Cyr qui y exploitait une grande ferme.[1]
