Owl’s Nest Inn, Auberge
Contenu
Renovated in 2007, this inn was founded in 1962 by John Lech, on the farm once owned by Ken Brock, acquired in 1944. The Owl's Nest was something of a meeting place for the Polish community from the 1950's. The grounds were used for soccer, softball, volleyball and swimming. In 1974, Czeslaw Stogowski bought the place. The Owl's Nest became a popular bar, sometimes frequented by Mordecai Richler, who famously patterned fictional characters after some of the real ones he had met there, notably “Sweetpea” George!
