Sandra Jewett
Born January 15, 1948 in her grandmother’s bedroom at Handside Farm in Vale Perkins, eldest daughter of George & Orma Jewett, great-great-granddaughter of George R. Jewett and Jane Allen, Gardner B. Jones and Clara George of Vale Perkins. She now lives in her great-grandfather’s home on Peabody Road. Her roots in Potton are deep. Educated in Mansonville Intermediate School and Knowlton High School. Mother of two sons, and grandmother of two grandsons. Worked in Sherbrooke and in Montreal, managed La Caisse populaire de Mansonville, was Secretary-Treasurer of the Municipality of the Township of Potton and the Municipality of East Bolton. Chaired the District of Bedford Protestant Regional School Board for 10 years. Co-owner with sisters Carolyn Avis and Orma Jane Jewett, of Jewett’s Store in Vale Perkins, their family home and business where they were brought up.
